Overview
When I first began working with Advanced Power Systems, the company had a clear reputation for technical excellence but lacked a cohesive visual and verbal identity that matched their capabilities. They were a trusted name in industrial batteries for forklifts, maintenance vehicles, and other electrically powered equipment, but their branding and marketing materials didn’t fully communicate the innovation or reliability behind their products. My goal was to change that.
I started with the foundation: the logo. I wanted to capture both the strength and dependability of the company’s products while maintaining a sense of modernity and precision. The new logo became the visual cornerstone of their refreshed identity. From there, I collaborated with Jason Abbott on a complete website redesign that presented Advanced Power Systems as the first-class industrial battery solution provider they truly are. The site was built to be clear, functional, and approachable, reflecting the company’s customer-first philosophy.
Beyond digital work, I developed a full suite of marketing materials including promotional products, print collateral, and signage. Each piece reinforced the message of reliability and service excellence, giving the sales team a consistent toolkit to communicate with clients across industries.
During this process, I also helped launch Spartan Energy, the company’s flagship line of industrial batteries. I created the Spartan Energy logo, developed a cohesive product naming system, and oversaw product photography that emphasized strength, endurance, and high performance. Spartan Energy quickly became a recognizable brand within their industry, representing Advanced Power Systems’ commitment to power and precision.
The success of this collaboration led to a continued partnership beyond Advanced Power Systems. I was later brought in to work with their parent company, Atlanta Fork Lift, and several affiliated brands including Advanced Materials Handling Systems, Toyota Material Handling Systems, Outdoor Industrial Products (OIP), and McGee Storage & Handling. For these companies, I delivered a wide range of creative solutions spanning digital media, infographics, print brochures, and trade show signage.
What began as a single rebrand evolved into a long-term creative partnership built on trust, collaboration, and shared vision. Advanced Power Systems didn’t just get a new look; they gained a unified story that connected their products, people, and purpose.
