Sangster’s Coffee

Overview

When Bindley Sangster approached me to help bring Sangster’s Coffee to market, I was honored. This wasn’t just any coffee brand—this was a deeply personal family legacy rooted in the heart of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains. Bindley, a close friend and neighbor, had recently taken over the family farm, founded by his father in 1981, and was ready to transform it into a premium coffee experience for a global audience. He asked Atomic Wash to lead the package design and develop the visual materials to support the brand’s launch. I knew right away this had to be something special.

From our first conversations, we wanted to be intentional about honoring the authenticity of the brand. This coffee is grown on a family farm, nurtured by generations, and steeped in Jamaican heritage. That pride had to come through visually. We worked closely with Bindley and his wife Melissa on the package design to ensure it reflected both the elegance of the product and the warmth of the story behind it—clean, modern layouts paired with rich, natural textures and subtle nods to Jamaican culture. The goal was to stand out on a shelf but feel grounded in tradition. We wanted customers to feel that they weren’t just buying coffee—they were becoming part of a story.

In addition to the packaging, we supported the brand launch with additional marketing materials that carried the same sense of care and craft. From presentation decks to social content, every touchpoint was designed to mirror the premium nature of the coffee and the heartfelt mission behind it. Working with Bindley and Melissa was a joy—their passion, authenticity, and drive to build something lasting made this one of those rare projects that’s both creatively fulfilling and personally meaningful. I’m incredibly proud of the work we did together and even more excited to see Sangster’s Coffee making its way into kitchens and conversations far beyond the Blue Mountains.
